Faith
by Ted L Glines
From a pulpit
in your mind
a sermon lulls
your doubts and fears,
convincing you
you must have faith,
take for granted,
essential things
never promised
for the morrow.
Somewhere out there
your lover waits
for you,
just for you,
your special soulmate
whose life
you think
you may borrow.
You have this faith
that after life,
your tiny soul
will go to God,
but your last breath
may expire
in empty sorrow.
Of all those things
we take on faith,
most important is
that breath of life
will be on earth
tomorrow.
Feast
by Ted L Glines
Love like a salad
full of tasty delights
with all of the dressing undressed.
You are my entree
lovely gourmet tasting,
in your menu I feel so blessed.
All things that I do
bring me hungry to you,
to sup at your loving table.
I will pull up a chair
count on me being there,
as long as this body is able.
To dine on your lips
and savor your flavors,
the stuff which makes my love soar.
While this banquet of love
is such a rich feast,
there is always a craving for more.
