Is it from jealousy
anger or spite
or some perverse spin
on wrongness or right
that some will attack
anything bright
as if to deny
the goodness of light?

We seek to bring
sweetness and calm
to chaotic souls
in search of balm
a hug for the lonely
a hopeful psalm ...

But some will be angry
and rant and rail
bitterly try
to make us fail
blanket our light
while they weep and wail
and worship their dark
like some holy grail.

In spite of them all
in pure delight
we go forth to bring
salve to all blight
to wipe away tears
and clear your sight
so our world may sing
in love and light.

Little Mbuto Smiles

Heartbreaking ads on TV CABLE
little black kids
feeble skin and bones
flies upon their eyes,
"Give as much as you can.
Five dollars feeds a child
for a year. Give now!
An operator is standing by."

See the AID station
in Uganda,
Kenya or Sudan,
bright new building
bright new white Land Rover
which passes by the sick and dying,
"No time for you today!"
No money ...

AID money comes to Kenya,
stopsin pockets
of Kenya politicians
only passing enough
to build the building
buy the white Land Rover
funding new and better
heartbreaking ads ...
and an operator is always
standing by ...

In  your hand
hold the photo
which was sent to you,
little Mbuto, happy fat and smiling,
and you feel good
because you helped
(his father, the President of Hell),
and you write another
check.

You're falling in trance,
You've no other choice.

The bright white light
Enters your head,
Flows down to your heart,
White blaze in the night.
Focus your spirit
On the warmth and the Light,
You're on it. You're in it,
Your soul is pure bright.

All there is,
All you are,
All wrapped up in this.
Feel the Love of our Goddess,
Feel Her hug,
Feel Her kiss.

Breathe deeply,
Relax completely,
Awaken to Life,
There's no other choice.
Breathe deeply,
Relax completely,
Our Goddess is You,
You speak with Her voice!

And this tiny wish
From me to Thee,
Walk in Peace, walk in Love,
And forever Blessed Be!
